What we cover in a routine foot care session.

Initial consultation

This is included in your first session only and will provide an assessment of foot health. All other treatments listed on services will then be carried out.

Verruca's

are warts on the feet, caused by a virus. They will be parred down and treated. Follow up care and appointments will be arranged, to ensure the verruca is fully treated and does not return.

Fungal nail infections

are common. They're not usually serious but they can take a long time to treat. There are different treatments of fungal nail infections and thickened nails, depending on the severity. This will be assessed and advice will be given on the best treatment and follow up care that is required.

Corns and calluses

are areas of thick and hard skin that develop when skin is exposed to excessive pressure or friction. The areas will be parred down, using a scalpel and will then any corns will be removed by a process that is called nucleation. The areas will then be filed to ensure they are smooth and comfortable.

Athlete's foot

is a common fungal infection that affects the feet. The feet will be assessed, advice will be given and follow up care will be recommended.

Ingrown toenails

occur when the toenail digs into the skin, causing inflammation and sometimes infection. Treatment may require cutting away a section of nail from the nail edge and ensuring the part of the nail that has ingrown is fully removed. Once it has been treated, the toe will be dressed with a nonadherent dressing and follow up advice will be given.

Footwear advice

Incorrect footwear can affect many people in their day to day life as its not one size fits all! A simple analysis of the feet may be the difference between having reoccurring foot pain or shedding those last minutes of your running personal best! Don't forget, we also offer sports therapy services too!

Nail trim and buff

A standard tidy up of the toenails which also include thickened nail reduction.

Nail reconstruction

Nail reconstruction is a cosmetic procedure that aims to restore the appearance and functionality of damaged or unhealthy nails. It involves the application of artificial materials, such as acrylic or gel, to rebuild and reshape the natural nail. This technique is commonly used for individuals with brittle, weak, or severely damaged nails due to conditions like trauma, fungal infections, or genetic disorders. During the process, the damaged portion of the nail is gently filed and cleaned, and then a specialized product is applied to create a new nail surface.

Simple insoles

Simple insoles, also known as shoe inserts or footbeds, are cushioning devices designed to provide additional support, comfort, and relief to the feet. These insoles are usually made from soft and flexible materials such as foam, gel, or silicone.  Simple insoles can help alleviate common foot problems like plantar fasciitis, flat feet, or arch pain by providing extra cushioning and distributing weight more evenly.
